India Internet Group (IIG) Launches Accelerator To Invest In India-Focused Startups

The India Internet Group, which invests in India-focused early stage Internet and Mobile technology startups, has launched a unique business plan competition for entrepreneurs in the U.S. to participate in India-focused Internet or Mobile technology businesses startups. The Venture Competition, as the plan has been named, seeks to identify and support such innovative business ideas. The plan aims to facilitate cross-pollination of ideas, technologies and startups between the U.S. and India.
For those who do not know about IIG, the company is led by a team of very qualified people having great experience in innovating marketing technologies. The founding member Anirudh Suri is an experienced entrepreneur who previously worked at McKinsey & Company, and has studied at Harvard's Kennedy School of Government and the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania. The advisory group consists of several successful entrepreneurs, corporate executives and investors in India and the U.S.
IIG and its partners have previously invested in various India based startups which include Exclusively.in, Ignighter, and The Wild East Group. The company is also promoting various startups such as EkSMS. EkSMS is India's first SMS and Web-based personalized recommendation engine for mid to high-end restaurants, bars and cafes. It offers you various deals based on the locations and preferences. It was launched few days back and is providing services in Mumbai for now.
India has surely a tremendous potential for successful startups. The country has seen a lot of innovative ideas floating in as far as different startups are concerned. With the support that IIG and other such venture funding companies are providing, there will be a great amount of increased opportunities in the  Indian startup ecosystem.
